Q: Where will my Signature BLISS Massage take place?
A: Your Signature BLISS Massage will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room that was designed for the ultimate massage experience. Quiet soothing music will be played to help you relax. You will lie on a massage table especially designed for your comfort that can be heated, or cooled to your desired temperature.
Q: Must I be completely undressed for my BLISS Massage?
A: Most Massages are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped during the entire session.
Q: Will the Massage Therapist be present when I disrobe?
A: The Massage Therapist will leave the room while you undress, get onto the table, and cover yourself with a the linens/blankets on the table.
Q: Will I be covered during my BLISS Massage?
A: You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. If at any point you feel exposed or uncomfortable, bring it to the attention to your Massage Therapist immediately.
Q: What parts of my body will be massaged?
A: The Signature BLISS Massage is a full-body session that will include work on your back, hips, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, scalp, face, neck, and shoulders.
Q: What will the Signature BLISS massage feel like?
A: The Signature BLISS Massage is a relaxing Swedish Style massage that includes aromatherapy and reflexology. The BLISS Massage will start with broad, flowing strokes that will help calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension. Often, a light aromatherapy oil or lotion is used to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin. The oil also helps hydrate your skin. You should communicate immediately if you feel any discomfort so that another approach may be taken. Massage and bodywork are most effective when your body is not resisting.
Q: Are there different kinds of massage available at CHIROPRACTIQUE?
A: There are numerous types of massage and bodywork; various techniques utilize different strokes, including basic rubbing strokes, rocking movement, posture and movement re-education, application of pressure to specific points, and more. Your massage therapist will discuss which methods, or Massage Enhancements may be most appropriate for you from our Massage Enhancement Menu.
Q: What should I do during the Signature BLISS Massage?
A: Prior to the massage, feel free to ask your Massage Therapist any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. During the BLISS massage, make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax; communicating if/when they need more or less pressure, another blanket, or anything else relevant to the session. If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask.
Q: How will I feel after the Signature BLISS Massage?
A: Most people report very feeling relaxed and BLISSED out! Some experience a reduction to chronic aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive stress. Over the next few days, people tend to feel more relaxed, clearer, less tense and as having fewer complaints of body aches and pain. Clinical research shows that people who receive regular massage therapy actually become more productive at work and less likely to take personal days off due to illness and pain. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended you drink plenty of water following your massage for the next 48-72 hours.
Q: What are the benefits of regular massage therapy and bodywork?
A: Massage therapy reduces chronic muscular tension and pain, improves cardiovascular circulation, increases joint mobility, reduces stress, promotes faster healing of injured muscular and connective tissue, improves posture and gait, and reduces blood pressure. Massage, when done on a regular basis, can also help to promote better sleep, improve focus and mental clarity, can reduce anxiety symptoms and promote an overall sense of well-being.
Q: Are there any medical conditions that would make the Signature BLISS Massage inadvisable or be contraindicated?
A: Yes. That’s why it’s imperative that, before you begin your session, you answer all questions accurately and honestly on your intake form and that your Massage Therapist asks you about these items on each visit. It is very important that you inform the practitioner of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a care of a doctor, or undergoing treatment, it is strongly advised that you inform your doctor that you are going to be receiving Massage Therapy. Depending on the circumstance you may need a note from your doctor before you can receive bodywork.
