Vacation For Your Health!

We Americans don’t take enough vacations…

This week, to practice what I preach, I’m taking my very own vacation.  Spring is a great time to budget and schedule for a summer vacation, or plenty of time to plan for an even bigger trip in the fall.  It’s so easy to procrastinate and put off vacations- I’ve learned the hard way.  You just have to go for it- set aside the time and money.

In case you’re still not convinced, I’ve included a few of the many reasons a vacation is good for your health too.

1. Reduces overall stress and anxiety after you’re back home.
2. Good for heart health.  A long-term study found women that took vacations once every 6 years were more likely to develop coronary artery disease.
3. Another study found that people who regularly take 2 week or longer vacations felt less tense and healthier while on vacation, with higher energy levels and more overall life satisfaction.
4. Plenty of studies have shown that couples and families that vacation together have higher levels of satisfaction in their relationships.
